Sendai Mission is Back as of 01 Jul 2024!

We're pleased to announce that Japan Sendai was re-established as a separate mission on 01 Jul 2024 after five years of being split and merged half each into the Sapporo and Tokyo North missions. A transitional mission office is currently located in a 10-story office building near the Kamisugi meetinghouse. A new Sendai Stake center is under construction in the Kamisugi area, and its 2nd floor will be the new permanent mission office, replacing the current rented office space. The mission president and assistants are currently housed in apartments just southeast (back side) of Sendai eki. A search is underway for space nearby that can be renovated to serve as a new mission home/official residence of the mission leaders.

In separate sections of this Site, Sendai Mission cities and meetinghouses are discussed in detail, as is the history of LDS Japan Mission boundaries and areas.

This Site has no direct connection whatsoever with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ("Church"), but is maintained by and is for the use of missionaries who served in the Sendai Mission, and more specifically, those who served in the first jidai (era) with Mission Leaders Walter and Joyce Teruya. It is a place for returned missionaries to keep in contact with old friends and companions, and to help us preserve and strengthen our ties with Japan and mission areas where we served.
